View of River from Farm Kitchen Black River

There are some childhood memories and smells that never leave you. For me my best childhood memories all revolved around a farm in New Brunswick where we lived for a time. Today a walk over farm fields on a sunny day, the smell of alfalfa blooms, the taste of a clover blossom all can transport me back to those days when picking a bouquet of wild flowers to take home for Mom were sweet pleasures.

This website too reminds me of those times.

Commitment to Loveliness

It’s time for another Commitment to Loveliness! This is a fun way to increase femininity and beauty in our lives each week without even trying! All you have to do is choose five things that you would like to work on or do during the week that will increase the loveliness in your life!

Here is my list for this week.

1. Tend to  houseplants, bring each one into the kitchen trim, fertilize and wash leaves.

2. Air out and de-clutter bedrooms and make each one as inviting as possible.

3. Take a look at front porch, see what might make entrance more welcoming. Wash down concrete, clean outdoor lamps and buy a pot of spring flowers or pussy willow branches,  to set near front door.

4. Wash and store hats,  scarves & extra winter blankets in cedar chests.

5. Plant some pansies scattered in cool (to prolong bloom) spots of garden

Inspired by this website- a little old world charm much needed in the hurly burly times of today. http://charmingthebirdsfromthetrees.blogspot.com/search/label/Commitment%20to%20Loveliness
